Children’s books set in South Carolina
Welcome to the children’s books set in the South Carolina area of KidsTravelBooks. There aren’t too many books here now, but more will be added. Take a look around and stay tuned for new additions.
What are some children’s books about South Carolina?
Because this area is so sparse, I thought I’d highlight some that haven’t been “officially” added below.
The Discover America State by State has a South Carolina alphabet and South Carolina number book. The Pink House tells the story of a family’s annual beach vacation at the Pink House. And finally, Palmetto Courage shares the story of the state’s symbol, the Palmetto.
What family-friendly bookish things are there to do in South Carolina?
Greenville, SC is one of my favorite downtown areas to explore in the United States. And one of the biggest reasons I feel that way is because I love their bookstore, M. Judson Booksellers. It’s in an amazing building, has a cool children’s area, and, if I remember correctly – had delicious cupcakes in the cafe. It is definitely worth a stop when your travels bring you to the area.
For those visiting Charleston, check out the Library Society. Their children’s area, the Rabbit Hole, offers story time several times a week.
