What types of children’s books about Idaho will you find here?
P is for Potato is part of the popular Discover America State by State series. I particularly love the story of the author and illustrator team on this one, husband and wife, Stan “The Bookman” Steiner and Joy.
I also want to highlight the non-fiction book, What’s Great About Idaho? This one’s perfect for kids who want to learn more about the state.
There are several middle-grade fiction books set in Idaho, like Camille McPhee Fell Under the Bus.
What are some bookish experiences for families in Idaho?
When I was in school, book fair days were my favorite days. Now that I’m a mom, I’m still a HUGE fan of book fairs at my kid’s school. I will walk around for hours looking at all the amazing books before grabbing a bunch and supporting the school and my readers at the same time.
It was cool to come across an article about a family run business called Idaho Book Fair. The Nielson’s travel throughout schools in Idaho and Utah setting up book fairs. On Saturdays, they open up their warehouse as a bookshop of the best of the best in children’s books.
