CHILDREN’S BOOKS SET IN ARKANSAS
Children’s books set in Arkansas have a special place in my heart. I lived in Arkansas for a few months as a child and continued to visit throughout my childhood. So many fond memories.
One thing I like about Arkansas, from what I can tell, they really embrace some of their local authors. According to the Only in Arkansas site, several Arkansas author books are required readings. They may not be set in the state, but I like the support. Popular books included on school reading lists include The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Arkansas-inspired classic, Summer of My German Soldier.
