What are some children’s books about Indiana?
Parents with babies will like the Good Night Indiana board book. My own children, who love race cars (though the boy likes them more than the girl does), would love the Indianapolis 500 inspired books. Here are a few of them – The Spectacle, Celebrating the History of the Indianapolis 500 and Hardy Boys, Double Jeopardy. But, my daughter is not left out. She loves the holiday books like Love is All Around, Indiana.
What are some family-friendly book experiences in Indiana?
The Visit Indiana site offers a self-guided tour of literary hotspots in Indiana. How awesome is that? KidsTravelBooks readers may appreciate some of the spots:
- Bill Peet, Grandview, Spencer County: Famous for illustrating children’s books and working for Disney Studios during the time of some of their classic cartoons.
- Meg Cabot, Bloomington, Monroe County: Famous for writing young adult books, including The Princess Diaries.

In Elkhart, Indiana you’ll find the Hall of Heroes. This museum is dedicated to all things comic books. Here are some hotels in Elkhart.
