This is Munich by M. Sasek.
M. Sasek was born in Prague, but moved to Munich as an adult. After a few years in Munich, he started writing and illustrating the books that would be known as the “This is” series. He started with Paris and eventually made his way to This is Munich.
I like to think that his personal connection to the city gives this book something that the other ones won’t have, but I would recommend any of his books to children and adults who enjoy traveling with their kids.
