A picture book set in the Czech Republic

Golem isn’t just any picture book set in Prague, it’s actually a Caldecott Medal-winning book. While some worry that the paper cut art and accompanying story may be too intense for some children, it’s really up to you if you think this is something your own children will enjoy.

As you’ll see when you scroll down, there aren’t a lot of children’s books about the Czech Republic as a tourist destination. Most of the books are deeper stories that are set there, or informational books. Good news, though. This summer (2018) the popular travel series for kids, Bella and Harry, will be traveling to Prague! You can pre-order the book on Amazon now.

A chapter book set in the Czech Republic

Kids who enjoy gothic stories will like The Alchemist and the Angel. This story takes place in 16th century Prague, and as an added bonus, readers will also see Vienna.
