I’m interrupting my A-Z Challenge for April to talk about travel for a moment.
Is it just me, or do you also love going to a museum’s gift shop to look at books. The buyer for museum shops always have the best gadgets and books.
The photo above was taken at the Levine Museum of the New South in Uptown Charlotte. One of my favorite things to do when visiting a new city is to check out their local museum. What parts of their history are they talking about? This helps stage the scene for the rest of the trip. Then, I head to the gift shop and pick up their awesome books. It’s part of why I made this site. I always found these treasures museums that I could never find through a generic search online. I wanted to make it as easy as possible for people to find great books for kids.
My visit to the Levine Museum was research for a post I wrote for Family Travel 411. Check it out to see what my picks are for Uptown Charlotte’s top four family attractions, one hotel, and one place to eat. I loved sharing my city, and I hope you get a chance to visit some day.
