Afghanistan kid’s books: Highlights

I met someone once who was moving to Afghanistan as an adult. She said that the book that was always recommended to her, even though she didn’t have kids, was Tales Told in Tents. The stories included come from throughout Central Asia and give good insight into the culture.

Another highly recommended books is the award-winning story, The Breadwinner. It is about an 11-year-old girl living in Kabul and is the first in a series by the author.
