I can’t talk about Spring Break without mentioning the array of wonderful Caribbean Islands and Caribbean Cruise spring break destinations for families. I enlisted in the help of some blogger friends to share their favorite spots and you will find them below.
For the purpose of this post, I included official and unofficial Caribbean Island options. Yes, technically the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos do not touch the Caribbean Sea – but they’re still considered Caribbean Islands. If you want to see more details to which countries, islands, and specific islands within island countries are in the Caribbean – this Wikipedia post is a lot of fun.

Family Spring Break in Aruba
People love Aruba! It was the most recommended destination.
Aruba is a fantastic family vacation destination! Whether you’re looking for a low key relaxing vacation or a spring break full of adventure, Aruba has it all. Our personal family’s favorite activities include snorkeling, playing on the pristine beaches, and going on a ride in a submarine!

Family Spring Break in Curacao
My top choice for a Spring Break vacation with kids is the Dutch Caribbean island of Curacao. This sunny island is dotted with small, white-sand beaches protected by breakwaters which means its clear waters are calm and gentle enough for even the most novice young swimmer. In addition to the fantastic off-shore snorkeling and diving, there’s a wealth of free things to do on Curacao which makes it easy on the travel budget.

Family Spring Break in British and U.S. Virgin Islands
Rent a beachfront condo on St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands for a family-friendly tropical spring break getaway. With a white sand beach and calm blue bay right at your doorstep, there’s no need to do anything but relax. For a bit more adventure, spend the day snorkeling, hiking or even island hopping on a catamaran.
– Snorkel and Hike
The British Virgin Islands on a catamaran is our family’s go-to for Spring Break. Wake up to the sound of the sea, snorkel the crystal blue waters, swim through caves searching for pirate treasure, hike the giant boulders of “The Baths,” and drink some lovely umbrella drinks. And the sunset, well, nothing less than stunning.

Family Spring Break in Puerto Rico
San Juan, Puerto Rico makes for a perfect family Spring Break destination because it provides a combination of family-friendly beaches (like Isla Verde), safe walk-able streets to restaurants and shopping, and affordable hotels right on the beach. If you head to the Old San Juan area, you can explore Castillo San Felipe del Morro which is a national historic landmark and a giant citadel built right on the water between the 16th and 18th centuries.

Family Spring Break on a Caribbean Cruise
We have done cruises our last two spring breaks – why? because there is so much for everyone to do onboard and in all the amazing ports you can visit! Kids love kids clubs, arcades, waterslides, pools, rock climbing and more, while parents can visit the casino, spa, partake in fine dining, wine tastings, etc!
