We stopped in Knoxville, TN overnight on a recent family road trip. Though we’ve been to touristy areas around Knoxville (Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge) and have passed the city several times, none of us realized that Knoxville was a college town. One of my favorite things about college towns is the promise of at least one good independent bookstore. And Knoxville did not disappoint. So, I want to introduce my newest Bookstore Love bookstore: Union Ave Books in Knoxville, TN.
As much as I love bookstores in college towns, it can be difficult to find a fun bookstore that I’d enjoy that also has a great kid’s books section. So, I was so happy to see a rather large kid-friendly area. The books on the shelves looked fun and included popular and more obscure options. Just what I like.
It’s conveniently located for anyone staying within the downtown district and near the University of Tennessee. So make sure to take some time out of your schedule and support a local bookshop.
