One of my favorite memories from living in Germany with little ones was taking them to children’s activities. They played and we also listened to fun German Children’s Songs. I discovered a few favorites online and I want to share them with you. It’s fun for learning about Germany for Kids.
Hallo, hallo schön, dass du da bist
For every kid activity I did with my kids, this was the song we started with. And I loved it. It’s a catchy tune, and I love how they introduce each kid by name.
Also, this YouTube channel is my favorite for finding German children’s songs.
Häschen in der Grube
This song is about a rabbit. I like it because the rabbit hops. But, I especially like it when there are a group of kids and they take turns like they do in the video below.
Grün, grün, grün sind alle meine Kleider
This is the German children’s song to teach kids about colors. Watch the video below and soon you’ll also know your colors in Deutsch.
Die 16 Bundesländer
This song isn’t one I was very familiar with, but the topic is familiar. It’s a song about the 16 German states and their capitals. I’d love to give a special shout out to my two favorite states, or the ones I lived in, Nordrhein-Westfalen (I even have a whole blog I used to write about family-friendly things to do in the NRW) and Rheinland Pfalz.
Alle Leut’
Just as the song at the beginning of this post was sung at the beginning of all the kid’s activities, the song at the end of this post was sung at the end of all of the kid’s activities. Alle Leut’ is also catchy. Watch the video below to see how to do the motions that go along with it.
