So, you’re looking for some children’s books in Russian? Ok. I get it. This site is dedicated to children’s books in English set in other countries, but I can still help you out. If you want to check out Russian children’s books, feel free. Or scroll down to check out some resources I’ve put together to help you find what you’re looking for.
As part of the search for children’s books in Russian, you may be attempting to learn the language. For that, I recommend my post of books that teach Russian to kids. This offers books from simple words in Russian, to grammar.
If you’ve got the language down and just need more things to read, here are some resources for you.
- Colibri is an online store specializing in Russian goods and includes a nice selection of children’s books organized by age. They’re based in New York and ship throughout the US.
- Toy Polyglot is another online store. This one is geared towards tools to help kids learn Russian and there are a lot of items sorted by age. The website is available in both English and Russian.
- Trilingual Children offers information and links to their favorite Russian children’s books. I think this is a good resource for people who prefer a curated list.
- Amazon is a reliable source that may not have the list of books you’re looking for but is a good place to search when you’re not sure where else to look.
- Children’s Library has digital versions of books. Just do a quick search of “Russian” and you’ll find books in both Russian and bilingual English/Russian. Oh, and it’s all free.
These resources should be enough to get you started. If you know of any others, please let me know in the comments.
